Just Pitch In

How it works

Just Pitch In is a free sign-up sheet tool — for potlucks, volunteer shifts, meal trains, snack duty, carpools, and anything else where a group needs to divide up who brings or does what.

For organizers

1. Sign in. Creating a sheet takes a free account — just your email. We send you a magic sign-in link; no password to remember. Signing in keeps every sheet you make attached to you, so a lost link never loses your event.

2. Create your sheet. Pick a template (or start blank), give it a title, date, and location, then edit the slots — each slot is an item to bring, a person needed, or a time shift, with how many you need.

3. Share the link. After creating you get a public link to send your group and a manage link for edits. Your sheet also lives under My sign-ups anytime you're signed in.

For guests — no account needed

Anyone with the event link can sign up: name, an optional note, and how many spots they're covering. An email address is only needed if they want a day-before reminder.

Guests can show as "Anonymous" on the public list (the organizer still sees the real name), and every confirmation includes a cancel link so people can free their spot without bothering you.

Saving your own templates

If you run the same kind of event often — a monthly game night, a weekly snack rotation — check "Save these slots as a reusable template" when creating (or use the same option on the manage page). Your templates appear on the create page and under My sign-ups.

Tick "Share it publicly" and your template appears for every organizer using the site. You can publish or unpublish anytime from My sign-ups.

Group password (optional)

For a private group — a classroom, a team, a workplace — set a group password when creating the sheet (or later under Edit details on the manage page). Share the link and password together; guests enter the password once per browser and the sheet remembers them.

Removing the password reopens the sheet to anyone with the link. Changing it locks out anyone who hasn't entered the new one.

Managing your sheet

From the manage page (or My sign-ups) you can edit details, add or remove slots, see guest emails, remove sign-ups, and get a printable version with blank lines for unfilled slots — handy for the day of the event. When the event's over you can delete the whole sheet from the danger zone at the bottom — it removes every slot and sign-up permanently.

Have an old manage link from before accounts existed? Open it while signed in and hit "Save to my account" — the sheet joins your dashboard permanently.

When every slot fills

When your sheet is fully covered we'll congratulate you on the manage page — and ask once if you'd like to leave a small tip. It's how the site stays free; it's always optional and never blocks anything.

How the site is funded

Just Pitch In is free. It's supported two ways: optional tips, and supply links — when a sheet mentions things people might need to buy (cups, ice, sunscreen), we show links to buy them. If someone buys through those links we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to them.

Privacy basics

Guest names appear publicly on a sheet unless they choose Anonymous. Emails are only ever visible to the organizer. We don't sell data or run ad trackers.
